Our words have power. In the book of Proverbs we read that the tongue can bring life or death. When you speak well of your family, God will honor you and strengthen your relationship.

We know that sometimes it is not the easiest thing to do, but we want to encourage you to speak well of your family in front of them, and also behind their backs. Here's a piece of advice: Don't say "never" about your children, or parents. Don't tell him: "You're lazy, you never make the bed." Instead, say: "You're not lazy, shake off your laziness, and make the bed." Separate the action from your identity.

Speaking the identity that God has given you is very important, it really brings life and beautifies people. Even what if we take it further, why don't we apply what it says in Romans? speaks what is not as if it were.

We give you an example, most of you know that our daughter Sofia is our daughter by adoption. When she was at our house during the adoption process we had to visit the foster home where she had been. From the moment we met Sofia, we began to speak words of life about her.

She had crazy hair, and other things, and we started talking to her: “Sofía, you are the most beautiful girl in this world, you are the most loved girl in the entire universe.” We talked life about her character: "Sofia, your name means wisdom, you are a wise girl."

One day I (Kelly) had to take her to the foster home for some paperwork, and when they greeted me at the door of the foster home, the lady who took care of me said: No ma'am, that's not the girl who took her House. My answer was: but how? This is the same girl you gave me! He told me the same thing again: this is not the daughter you took with you. It's just that she looks radiant, and the one you brought didn't look like that. We understood how much power our words have! Beautify, and resurrect your family by the power of God acting through you.
